If San Diego State is able to hang on in the second half against San Jose State, then the Aztecs should grab the final spot in the AP Top-25 this week. After losing the season opener to Stanford, San Diego State has reeled off five wins in a row, including impressive victories over Arizona State and Boise State.

In a tough Mountain West, if San Diego State were able to win out, and UCF stumbled, the Aztecs would be in good position to break through in the New Year’s Six.

The Aztecs have used a strong defense and a potent running game led by Juwan Washington and Chase Jasmin to make a push into the Top-25. It would mark just the fourth appearance in the AP poll for them in the last 50-years.
