Justin Herbert. 5. player. 31. . QB. Oregon

Will the Giants, a year removed from passing on some very nice quarterback talent to land running back Saquon Barkley, finally pull the trigger and secure Eli Manning‘s replacement this season? If they do, New York is in luck, because Justin Herbert just might fall right in their laps.

Several years ago, the Giants worked out a deal with the then-San Diego Chargers, to trade Philip Rivers for Manning. While the critics have always circled around Manning, he has delivered plenty of times. Now, though, just might be the end of the line for the signal-caller.

Herbert, who is a gifted athlete at 6-foot-6 and 233 pounds, has completed almost 65 percent of his passes in his career. He took over as a freshman at Oregon, throwing for 1,936 yards and 19 touchdowns with just four interceptions in eight games.

Last year, an injury limited Herbert to nine games total, with his numbers coming up very close to the same from the year before. He has a remarkable touchdown-to-interception ratio, and continues to show improvements as a pocket passer this season.

With Alex Tanney and Kyle Lauletta listed as the current backups for Manning, it is very apparent that if the Giants want to keep up with Philadelphia and other teams in the NFC, they need to secure their future quarterback sooner rather than later.
