6. player. 30. . DT. Michigan. Rashan Gary

Last year, Rashan Gary showed all those that questioned his high school ranking as one of the top players in the nation that he was indeed that guy. Gary racked up 58 tackles for Michigan, with 5.5 sacks and 11.5 stops for loss.

The 6-foot-5, 283-pounder has lined up at both defensive tackle and end during his two-plus year run with the Wolverines. After seeing action in 12 games as a freshman with 23 tackles and five for loss, some wondered if the fire and desire was there for Gary.

He’s since turned into a monster for the Michigan defense, though a shoulder injury has limited him this season. That same injury has probably turned the focus for Gary on his future and the NFL, which will likely lead to his early exit from college.

The Jets mixed their draft around with almost an equal selection of offensive players and defensive ones, including tabbing Sam Darnold as the quarterback of the future. Now, they can land Gary to pair with 2018 draft picks Folorunso Fatukasi, Nathan Shepherd and Frankie Luvu on the defense as the rebuild continues on.

Gary could slide in for Steve McLendon at tackle in the 3-4, or spell the likes of Leonard Williams and Henry Anderson along the end thanks to this incredible speed for a big man.
