8. player. 48. . CB. LSU. Greedy Williams

What’s the best way to make a name for yourself as a freshman playing defense in the vaunted SEC? How about by picking off six passes and finding yourself locked into the LSU secondary?

That’s exactly what Andraez “Greedy” Williams did last year, as the 6-foot-2 corner made an instant impact. Along with his six picks, Williams also defended 10 passes and finished with 38 total tackles.

It’s been tougher this year for him, as offensive coordinators are now planning their attacks away from Williams which has forced his numbers to drop. But at the same time, that just shows the level of respect he has already received from the nation and the league.

Playing in a division with Matt Ryan and Drew Brees, Tampa Bay is in desperate need of corners who can play man-to-man defense and lock a wide receiver down. The secondary currently includes Ryan Smith, Brent Grimes, Isaiah Johnson and Justin Evans, along with recent draft choices Carlton Davis and, MJ Stewart and Jordan Whitehead.

The Bucs have shown a desire to load up the secondary with those recent choices, but passing on someone with the ball-hawking skills and size of Williams in the draft just because you have depth would be a huge mistake.
