Buffalo went to the Glass Bowl on Saturday and knocked off Toledo by two touchdowns. It was a dominant display on both offense and defense that kept the Bulls positioned as a Group of Five contender for the New Year’s Six berth this year.

The Bulls defense held the Rockets under 300 total yards of offense, while Buffalo’s own offense overcame struggles to go over 30 points for the fifth time in seven games.

Lance Leipold’s team is finally operating like the well-oiled championship machines he produced at Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater before coming to Buffalo. The Bulls are the only one-loss team remaining in the MAC, and they are the last team unbeaten in conference play in the East.

Buffalo is third nationally in generating turnovers this year, which has them among the top 10 teams in turnover margin. That has proven to be a major catalyst for their success, as they made up for Tyree Jackson‘s three interceptions in Toledo with four takeaways of their own. The Bulls put their record on the line next against Miami of Ohio the day before Halloween after a bye in Week 9.
