ACC Football Power Rankings: Clemson still the top dog after Week 8
The Hurricanes climb back into the number two spot of our rankings, even after they lost to Virginia a few weeks ago. There’s no telling what the status of quarterback N’kosi Perry will be going forward, But Coach Richt will need the turnover chain out against Boston College on Thursday night. If the Hurricanes win that game they should turn things around heading into the last third of the season.
Every time Clemson has faced their toughest test of the season it has come out looking like the surefire pick to win the conference. Miami is talented but inconsistent, no one knows what to expect from Duke each week, and the Wolfpack just got handled very easily last week. Trevor Lawrence threw for over 300 yards and a score, and Travis Etienne was a touchdown machine finding the end zone three times.
It’s a surprise he isn’t getting more love and more of the Heisman praise, but he’s playing like one of the best running back in the country. The Tigers travel to Tallahassee to face the Seminoles, but I expect them to come out with another easy victory and stay in the driver seat for the college playoffs.
So those are our ACC football power rankings after the Week 8 slate of games. Are you happy with your team’s ranking? Comment below and let’s get ready for Week 9 action!
