With a solid noon slate, a couple good afternoon games, and a shockingly great weekday package, we’ve got a fun college football schedule in Week 9.

Welcome back to another edition of the weekly Saturday Blitz binge-watch guide! After last week’s Ohio State-Purdue drama, Clemson-NC State blowout, Washingon State-Oregon upset and plenty of other awesome games, there’s plenty to talk about in college football this week. There are also a ton of intriguing matchups this week.

That’s true despite what feels like half of the nation being on a bye week this week. We still have a shocking number of good weekday games, two solid noon games, two interesting afternoon games, and at least one good late night game. The prime-time slate is disappointing, but there’s a little something for everyone this week. It’s a selective Saturday, and after last week (for reference, I’m an Ohio State fan) this is more than welcome.

Before we get into the picks, let’s look back at last week’s picks. As usual, if the game was entertaining or interesting, it counts as a hit. After my great showing in week seven (82 percent), my week eight results are once again positive, as I hit on seven of my nine picks, or roughly 78 percent. That increases my season average to 70 percent for the first time all season, and over the last three weeks, I’m hitting at a completely unsustainable 82 percent.

With that said, this week is kind of tricky. A pretty good chunk of my games this week are coming from less than traditional powers, and when picking those games, things can get a little wacky, which could mean a few more misses. G5 games and low-level P5 games are pretty often boom or bust, so we may have a few busts this week.
