3. Hurricanes will live-or-die with Malik Rosier

When Mark Richt decided to give the starting quarterback job back to Malik Rosier, it was meant with some interesting comments. And despite failing to generate much offense vs. Boston College Friday night, it appears Richt will stick with the senior.

Rosier was good – not great – over the first three games, throwing five touchdowns and two interceptions. He completed 67 and 57 percent of his passes in wins over Savannah State and Toledo after a loss to LSU, but it was N’Kosi Perry who handled the majority of the snaps vs. Florida International.

In wins over North Carolina and Florida State it was again Perry, as Rosier didn’t attempt a pass. He returned in a 16-13 loss to Virginia earlier this month, throwing a pick and completing just 12 of 23 for 170. He finished with 149 yards and a touchdown, adding 72 yards on the ground on 14 attempts.

Last year, Rosier led the Hurricanes to the ACC championship game, as he completed 224 of 415 for 3,120 yards with 26 touchdowns. That, though, might be an anomaly, as he has yet to come close to looking like that same person.
