College Football Playoff: Ohio State, Michigan swap spots in New Year’s Six
Allstate Sugar Bowl – Oklahoma Sooners vs LSU Tigers
First matchup between these two since the 2004 BCS Championship Game.
The LSU Tigers picked up another win over a ranked conference opponent in Week 8 after defeating Mississippi State 19-3 LSU now heads into a bye week before taking on the top team in the nation, and conference rival, the Alabama Crimson Tide. If there is any team on the Tide’s remaining schedule to take them down, it’s LSU.
LSU has played in more big games and close games than any team in the country. The Tigers will also be the home team in this pivotal matchup, that could decide who the SEC West champ is and who gets into the College Football Playoff.
The Oklahoma Sooners bounced back from their loss to the Texas Longhorns with a big time win over the TCU Horned Frogs, winning 52-27. The Sooners are just like their Big 12 counterparts, Texas and West Virginia. Oklahoma has plenty of chances to pick up some impressive wins, including a Big 12 Championship, to get back into playoff contention. And with Heisman hopeful, Kyler Murray, that Sooner offense is going to be hard to stop.
With almost every game being an easy win for the Sooners, the end of season matchup of Oklahoma and West Virginia is looking to be a deciding factor in not only the Big 12 but in the College Football Playoff.
