Wide Receivers

Laviska Shenault – Colorado

No word has been announced as to whether Shenault will or will not play for Colorado this weekend against Oregon State. Shenault, one of the nation’s best wide receivers, was unable to play last Saturday in Colorado’s 27-13 loss to No. 15 Washington.

Felton Davis – Michigan State

Senior Felton Davis tore his Achilles tendon against Michigan, and will miss the rest of the season, effectively ending his college career. Davis had 31 catches for 474 yards and four touchdowns this season. He’ll finish his college career with 100 catches, 1,450 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. It’s a massive loss for the Spartans, who are dealing with a host of injuries.

Emanuel Hall – Missouri

Hall, one of the nation’s most electrifying receivers in a pass-heavy offense, hasn’t played since Sept. 22 with a groin injury. Despite missing a ton of time, Hall still leads the team in receiving with 430 yards and is averaging 23.9 yards per catch. He was a limited participant in practice this week and may be able to return soon. Missouri (4-3) plays Kentucky on Saturday.

KeVontae Turpin – TCU

Perhaps not an injury, but throughout this segment, we’ve talked about suspensions and dismissals as well. On Tuesday, the Horned Frogs dismissed senior wide receiver KeVontae Turpin from the team following his arrest for assault. I won’t delve into the case, but instead talk about the impact that this has on TCU, whom just lost one of the nation’s best returners. Turpin has five total touchdowns this season, including two on returns. He was averaging 19.4 yards per punt return and 26.4 on kickoffs.
