6. player. 30. . OT. Alabama. Jonah Williams

You will often see teams who have recently drafted quarterbacks highly turn around and look to quickly solidify their offensive lines to protect them.

The Jets appear to have found their franchise quarterback in Sam Darnold, and now it will be up to them to find more offensive weapons and bulk up their offensive line to keep Darnold upright and healthy.

Jonah Williams started at Alabama immediately as a freshman at right before moving to left tackle as a sophomore, and has manned the positions flawlessly for three years now. He is a dominant run blocker with good athleticism and great hands.

Williams has keyed an Alabama offensive line that has done a great job in keeping sophomore quarterback Tua Tagovailoa upright; the Tide rank fourth in the nation in giving up just five sacks through eight games.

The Jets were also prominent players in the Khalil Mack sweepstakes, ultimately losing out to the Chicago Bears in the bidding war, so they could be in the market for an edge rusher with this pick to fill that need.

If they go that route, Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat would make a lot of sense.
