Penn State Football 2018: 5 bold predictions for November
By Shane Lunnen
4. Miles Sanders approaches 1,500 rushing yards
Running back Miles Sanders has not been Saquon Barkley this season. However he has held his own and he will have his best month yet in November.
In eight games this season, Sanders has rushed for 834 yards on 136 carries. He’s averaging a little over six yards per carry and has scored eight touchdowns.
For some reason, the Lions have only allowed Sanders to carry the ball over 20 times once all season. It was against Illinois and it was his best game of the year where he hit the 200 yard mark and found the end zone three times. He does not have the wear and tear on him because of it so the last month of the season he needs to be a workhorse.
Michigan’s stout defense will give Penn State and Sanders trouble, but after the Wolverines, there are some teams in which Sanders can feast upon. Namely Rutgers and Maryland. Even Wisconsin’s defense is not as formidable as it has been in recent seasons.
Sanders will easily top 1,000 yards this season. He will have huge games against the Scarlet Knights and Terps. He might not quite make 1,500 yards on the ground, but he will come awfully close.
