Defense

Jamel Dean – Auburn

Great news for the Tigers, as starting cornerback Jamel Dean returns to the lineup for their game against Texas A&M this weekend. Dean missed the Ole Miss game on Oct. 20th and used the bye week to get healthy. Dean has 13 tackles and one interception in six starts this season.

Jahlani Tavai – Hawaii

Hawaii will be without its star linebacker in a tough match-up with 18th-ranked Utah State this weekend. Tavai has been a force for the Rainbow Warriors, tallying 82 tackles, two sacks, and 5.5 tackles for loss in eight games. However, he has missed the last two games and Hawaii has given up 90 points across those two games.

Ed Oliver – Houston

Oliver is still day-to-day with a knee injury that caused him to miss Houston’s game against South Florida last week. According to the Houston Chronicle, “The two-time All-American will continue to increase his workload in practice and with his rehab throughout the week, Applewhite. No decision has been made on Oliver’s available for Saturday’s game at SMU.”

If Oliver misses, the defense may not need him against 3-5 SMU.
