2. Nate Stanley rebounds

It’s no secret, Nate Stanley had a roller-coaster ride of an October, starting out with throwing ten touchdown passes in two games, and following it up by completing barely over 40 percent of his passes in the final two games of the month. What made it worse was Stanley’s 18 for 49 performance against Penn State was seen nationally, leading many to question whether or not Iowa could get it done with him at the helm.

Well, I am here to say they can absolutely get it done with him at the helm. In terms of quarterback talent, there are very few quarterbacks in the nation that have more raw arm talent than Nate Stanley. The next four games are a chance for Stanley to show everyone what kind of quarterback he really is, and he is a great one and will show the rest of the conference that he is a star player.

Iowa’s opponents will also grant Stanley an opportunity to air out, Northwestern is by far and away the toughest pass defense Iowa has left to face, ranked 58th in the country. After that, Nebraska, Illinois and Purdue all rank below 100th in the country in pass defense, ranking 111th, 122nd and 127th respectively. It would be borderline insane to not test these awful secondaries and try to scorch those teams through the air.
