The Skinny
Auburn earned a miraculous victory over Texas A&M after trailing 24-14 with under six minutes to go. Chandler Cox scored a touchdown to get them within a field goal, and then Jarrett Stidham hit Seth Williams for an 11-yard touchdown with under two minutes to play to lift the Tigers to the win. It hasn’t been the season anyone was hoping for on the Plains, but this win could help the Tigers build some momentum heading to Athens next week.
Pittsburgh is in the driver’s seat of the ACC Coastal after a 23-13 win at Virginia on Friday night. The Panthers are only 5-4 overall, but are 4-1 in conference play. It has been a decidedly Pitt season as they’ve beaten Syracuse and Virginia, but also lost to 1-7 North Carolina. They still face Virginia Tech and Miami to finish up the season, but they could find themselves miraculously in the ACC Championship game on the first weekend of December.
Missouri finally got over the hump in an SEC game, rolling past Florida in the Swamp 38-17 on the heels of a big day from Drew Lock. It was Missouri’s first SEC win of the season, but they had been agonizingly close in a pair of others – a two-point loss to South Carolina and a one-point loss to Kentucky a week ago. If it all finally clicked for Barry Odom‘s crew this weekend, they could be in for another strong finish to the regular season.
Oregon finally circled-the-wagons following a two game losing streak where they were manhandled by Washington State and Arizona. All it took was the return of their old pal Chip Kelly to Autzen to get the Ducks fired up, and they coasted to a 42-21 win over UCLA.
