College Football Playoff Rankings 2018: Top 25 projections for Week 11
By Zach Bigalke
Army is going to get some love from the College Football Playoff selection committee this week after the Black Knights improved to 7-2 in a close win against Air Force. The win set up the Black Knights for a shot at the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy and pushed the team to bowl eligibility for the third straight year.
Though they were outgained on offense, Army had a 15-minute advantage in time of possession. Bleeding the clock, the Black Knights took the air out of the ball game against Air Force with a ground game that racked up 242 yards on the ground as a team.
This is probably as high as Army is going to climb over the next few weeks. The Black Knights face a pair of FCS schools the next two weeks, as Lafayette and Colgate come to West Point. They close out the regular season, as usual, with the traditional Army-Navy Game in Philadelphia during Heisman weekend in December.
