College Football Playoff Rankings 2018: Top 25 projections for Week 11
By Zach Bigalke
Utah State played their way into the College Football Playoff Top 25 thanks to a resounding 56-17 win on the island against Hawaii in late action on Saturday. The Aggies trounced the Rainbow Warriors to earn their eighth win of the season and maintain sole possession of the MWC Mountain lead.
Darwin Thompson and Gerold Bright each ran for over 100 yards and three touchdowns apiece. Thompson finished with 141 yards on 13 carries, Bright with 121 on 16 touches. Aggies quarterbacks Jordan Love and Henry Colombi weren’t forced to do much with the ball, as the pair finished 19-of-24 for 175 yards and a touchdown through the air. Utah State held Hawaii to just 43 rushing yards, rendering the Rainbow Warriors one-dimensional on offense.
Games against San Jose State and Colorado State precede the regular-season finale against Boise State that will almost certainly decide the division crown. If the Aggies keep winning, it will likely set up a showdown of ranked sides in the Mountain West championship game.
