Fresno State joined UCF as a ranked Group of Five team when the selection committee slotted them in at No. 23 in their first set of Top 25 rankings. After blowing out UNLV 48-3 on Saturday night, the Bulldogs consolidated their position and could even move up a spot or two thanks to the rest of the action around the country.

Marcus McMaryion threw for 274 yards with two touchdowns and a pick on 26-of-35 passing. The quarterback added 39 rushing yards. It was a huge day for the backfield, which had no single player top 50 yards but nevertheless finished by committee with 192 yards and four rushing scores.

The Battle of the Milk Can takes Fresno State to Idaho for a rematch of last year’s Mountain West championship game. If the Bulldogs take down Boise State, they close out the year with home dates against San Diego State and San Jose State. The Aztecs game will prove far more of a test than the regular-season finale against the Spartans.
