1. Willie Fritz, Tulane

The name Willie Fritz might not strike fear into opposing teams on Kansas’ future schedule, but it should. Fritz has found success at several different levels and with a handful of different teams, winning 166 games during his coaching career.

Currently at Tulane, Fritz has the Green Wave sitting at 4-5 on the year and coming off a huge 41-15 upset of South Florida on the road. Fritz replaced Curtis Johnson in 2016, leading the team to four wins.

Last year, Tulane went 5-7, including three American Athletic Conference victories. Now, they are second in the West division and looking for a bowl berth for the first time since 2013.

Fritz turned Blinn College around in his first head coaching job, taking over a program that had gone 5-24-1 and leading them to 39 victories including national junior college titles in 1994 and two years later.

He also was a winner at Central Missouri before leading Sam Houston State to back-to-back national title games and an unbeaten regular season. Fritz was the head coach at Georgia Southern for one season before moving to Tulane.
