Kansas Football: Top 5 candidates to replace David Beaty
By Dana Becker
2. Seth Littrell, North Texas
What better way to find success in the conference than by bringing in someone who knows it quite well. Seth Littrell is a native of Oklahoma who played for the 2000 national championship Sooners as a running back before getting into coaching.
He spent a handful of seasons as the running backs coach at Texas Tech, which just so happened to come after three years as a graduate assistant with none other than Kansas.
Littrell has won 21 games since taking over at North Texas following stops with Arizona, Indiana and North Carolina. He’s led the Mean Green to two bowl games during his time.
A season before LIttrell landed at North Texas, the school had gone 1-11. All he did was turn that around into five wins and a spot in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. The Mean Green won nine games last year, including a divisional title, and are currently 7-2 on the season.
