All eyes remain focused on the Apple Cup set for Friday, November 23 between Washington and Washington State, as the Pac-12 South will be decided in Pullman that night should both teams continue winning.

The Huskies scored a 27-23 victory over Stanford this past weekend, as Myles Gaskin had his first 100-yard game since early in October. The senior running back, who has three consecutive 1,300-plus yard seasons, ran for a season-high 148.

Washington has won seven of nine since a 21-16 loss to Auburn to begin the year, including wins over Colorado, BYU and Utah. The two other losses have come by two at California and three in overtime at Oregon. A date with Oregon State is all that stands in the way of meeting the Cougars for the division crown.

Once you reach march, making sure you come out on top is all that matters. Washington State did just that this past Saturday night, as Gardner Minshew threw a game-winning touchdown pass to lift the Cougars past California, 19-13.

Minshew, a transfer from East Carolina who replaced Cougar legend Luke Falk, threw for 334 yards, giving him nine consecutive games with at least 300 yards passing. Washington State has won five in a row since a 39-36 loss to USC on the road.

The Pac-12 South title will be decided over the final three weeks. Should Washington State get past Colorado and Arizona, they’ll meet Washington to crown the division winner, with the Cougars still presenting an outside shot at qualifying for the College Football Playoff.
