4. Bulldogs and Cougars are potential upset bids

The Georgia Bulldogs are hosting the Auburn Tigers on ESPN at 7pm eastern. Don’t even hesitate at the idea that Auburn can upset the Dawgs, they can and they might. Auburn has struggled offensively in a strange season for the Tigers. They returned Jarrett Stidham, Nate Craig-Myers, Darius Slayton, Ryan Davis and Kam Martin but 57th on offense per the S&P+ and hanging around the 80’s in both yards and points per play in 2018.

Georgia on the other hand is 8-1 and ranked 5th overall per the S&P+. Yet the Bulldogs have had a weird feeling of getting past but not running over opponents all year. The Bulldogs have top 5 talent and are top 11 or better in yards per play and points per play and have the 8th best offense per the S&P+.

Prediction: Georgia by 1

Washington State and their head coach Mike Leach are still in the running for the College Football Playoff. The Cougars dropped an early season game to USC but have been rolling since. They narrowly beat Cal in Week 10 and now hit the road to face Colorado. The 8-1 Cougs are the 17th best program per the S&P+ while the Buffaloes are 5-4 and ranked 73rd overall. WSU quarterback Gardner Minshew has been someone who defenses have tried to slow but haven’t stopped. Minshew has tossed 27 touchdowns with only seven interceptions as Leach’s latest Air Raid success story.

Colorado has been led by quarterback Steven Montez who has 21 total touchdowns and five interceptions in 2018. The Buffaloes aren’t very good, but they’re the type of team that will be tough to beat at home. ESPN will have the broadcast at 3:30 p.m. ET as Leach tries to hang on to his playoff hopes.

Prediction: Washington State by 14
