Vegas Knows Best

All year-long, Group of Five fans have been screaming about how good the Fresno State Bulldogs are and how they can compete with the best college football teams. The Bulldogs are currently ranked at No. 23 with an 8-1 record in the Mountain West Conference. Their lone loss comes from Minnesota, who started the season 3-0…but since has lost five of their last six games.

The Bulldogs have an average margin of win of 26 points, which is among the best in the country. However, they have only played two Power Five teams, Minnesota and UCLA. Fresno State beat UCLA, but by no means does that count as a quality win.

Boise State is 7-2 with loses at Oklahoma State and a six-point loss at home against San Diego State. The Broncos peaked at No. 17 in the rankings earlier this year prior to their loss to Oklahoma State. So although they are not ranked, Boise State has quietly been having a solid season.

With the game being played in Boise, Idaho, Fresno State will be in for a tough game. The game spread is 2.5 points in favor of the Bulldogs, suggesting this game could be decided by a field goal. This game will be an exciting shootout from the best the Mountain West has to offer.

Prediction: Fresno State 35 – Boise State 38
