Syracuse Football: Orange add to Louisville’s mounting losses

3. Moe Neal steals show for Syracuse in breakout performance
Yes, Eric Dungey looked good in victory. The quarterback threw for 192 yards, ran for 62 yards, and scored three total touchdowns. Dungey did throw an interception, though, and he went just 14-of-27 passing the ball. It opened the door for running back Moe Neal to break out as the star of the Syracuse offense on Friday night.
It wasn’t the first time that Neal has gone over 100 yards this year, but it was still the biggest performance of the junior’s three years in the Syracuse backfield. Neal piled on 159 yards and two touchdowns against the Cardinals in just eight carries.
Along the way, Neal racked up a 67-yard touchdown run and another 68-yard carry in the second half. Neal never lost yardage on any of his carries, as he gashed the Louisville front seven on runs long and short.
For the Orange, getting Neal more consistent touches could be critical as they try for the first double-digit winning season since they piled up 10 wins as a member of the Big East in 2001. Dungey cannot do it alone, especially as the stakes increase, and Neal proved capable of rising to the challenge as he fueled the Syracuse victory in Week 11.
