3. Nick Fitzgerald‘s Mobility

One thing that Alabama has had problems with over the year is stopping mobile quarterbacks. Whether it was Deshaun Watson, Nick Marshall or Chad Kelly. Nick Fitzgerald may have ended his 2017 season with a nasty ankle break against rival school Ole Miss.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Nick Fitzgerald had his best day against Alabama. Fitzgerald ran for 66 yards and a score last season and the amount of attention he drew from the defense allowed Aeris Williams to run for 97 yards and two scores. The Bulldogs had the lead going into the fourth quarter but Alabama scored 14 in the final quarter with the second coming in the final minute to win the game.

One of the best offensive outputs of the season against Alabama came from Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond who ran for 98 yards and a score with another score through the air. Had A&M had the defense of Mississippi State (we will get to that) then they might have had a legitimate shot of winning that game.

If the Bulldogs plan on making the upset happen, they will need Fitzgerald’s legs.
