1. Winner takes all in Week 13

Ohio State still controls its own destiny in the Big Ten. Even though the Buckeyes have a conference loss to Purdue, they still have only one Big Ten defeat.

Ohio State hits the road next week to take on a Maryland team who have some off the field drama with their head coaching situation and do not look like the same team that defeated Texas in Week 1. Barring something drastic, Ohio State should enter Week 13 with one conference loss.

Michigan plays Rutgers today and takes on Indiana at home next weekend. Rutgers leads the nation in turnovers and Michigans top-notch defense should not have any problems handling them. Indiana does a few things well, but nothing great and might could give the Wolverines a fight but won’t have the edge when the clock hits zero.

Even if Michigan loses one of these games, they still control their own destiny in the Big Ten with their one loss coming against Notre Dame Week 1.

The winner of the Ohio State-Michigan game will go onto play in and likely win the Big Ten Championship game and make a case for the playoff.

Both teams won’t make the playoff, but the winner of this game will have the best chance. It’s only fitting that one of the greatest rivalries in all of college football has come back to the point to where it decides the Big Ten once again. What makes it all better is that Pat Fitzgerald’s Northwestern Wildcats are in contention for the other side of the conference and making the Big Ten must-see football again.
