30. . Defensive Line. Michigan Wolverines. Rashan Gary. 7. player

The New York Jets routinely find versatile players along the defensive line in the early rounds of the NFL Draft, having selected Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson, and Leonard Williams all within the past eight years. That trend continues when they’re on the clock at No. 7 and select Michigan’s Rashan Gary.

Gary, who’s listed at 6-foot-5 and 283 pounds, will likely play wherever he’s asked to at the next level. Some may claim he doesn’t have a true position, but it’s that type of versatility that makes him such an interesting prospect.

For the Wolverines, Gary’s done his best work against their toughest opponents – tallying career highs in tackles (11), assisted tackles (7), tackles-for-loss (2.5), and sacks (2) all against the Ohio State Buckeyes. His career high in solo tackles (5) came against the Michigan State Spartans.

He has missed some time in 2018 due to a shoulder injury, but it shouldn’t scare any prospective-NFL teams away. It’s not like he’s dealt with multiple knee surgeries. He’s been relatively healthy his entire Wolverine career, and the former No. 1 high school recruit has a bright future in the NFL.
