3. Michigan Wolverines

In the current state of college football, it is important to win every game by the biggest margin possible. Running up the score is no longer a sign of bad sportsmanship, but rather an innocent effort to convince the College Football Playoff committee that your team is deserving of one of the Top 4 spots.

The Michigan Wolverines had Rutgers put away around the middle of the third quarter. However, they continued to score touchdowns and prevent Rutgers from scoring throughout the entirety of the game. The score ended as Michigan 42, Rutgers 7.

As a one-loss team, the Wolverines need to pad their resume as much as possible in case a team like UCF is sitting undefeated at the end of the year and have a strong argument to take the last playoff spot.

Michigan have Indiana at home next week, which should be another easy win before they have to travel to Ohio State. Beating the Buckeyes in Ohio, and winning the Big Ten Championship Game should be enough to keep an undefeated UCF team out of the College Football Playoff.
