2. No David Montgomery, no problem

Iowa State will be without star running back David Montgomery for the first half of this Saturday’s game due to his retaliation after a Baylor player threw a punch at him during the massive brawl between the Cyclones and Bears last Saturday. It is no doubt a big blow to the Iowa State offense, however, there is no need to panic. The Cyclones have backups that are more than capable of filling in for Montgomery.

The primary backup has been return specialist Kene Nwagnwu, who is an explosive runner, but hasn’t had many opportunities to bust a long run. Other backups include Sheldon Croney Jr., and even the possibility of former freshman All-American Mike Warren seeing a return to the backfield. The Cyclones will still have well over 100 yards rushing in the first half and Montgomery’s return will only enhance those numbers.
