1. Ed Oliver, Major Applewhite have issues to sort out

Houston has a number of issues to sort between injured star defensive lineman Ed Oliver and head coach Major Applewhite.

Oliver and Applewhite’s confrontation was documented in front of all the cameras — how does the team move forward with much still on the line for 2018?

A number of injuries affected the Cougars Thursday night. There were moments in the second half highlighting this, like sophomore defensive back Grant Stuard carrying the ball four times for 31 yards.

Will Oliver, a projected first-round draft pick next spring, return to the field for Houston? Will he even be healthy enough? Can he and Applewhite make amends?
