3. Hakeem Butler’s big play ability

For as good and consistent as Allen Lazard was, Hakeem Butler is a much more talented wide receiver. He has been an absolute monster for the Cyclones this season, catching 36 passes for 816 yards and eight touchdowns, with an eye-popping 22.7 yards per reception, which ranks second in all of FBS behind Tennessee’s Josh Palmer. Butler has had some highlight reel catches such as this Randy Moss-esque catch against Kansas.

Butler has shown he is one of the most unguardable receivers in the country and has stepped up his play against big time opponents. He hauled in five passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns against Oklahoma, caught six passes for 107 yards against West Virginia, and caught four passes for 148 yards and a touchdown against Texas Tech.

Butler is a prime example of the phrase “Big time players step up in big games”, and he will do just that against the Longhorns.
