2. Ian Book’s presence

Ian Book has been the main catalyst for this Notre Dame run this season. Book’s insertion into the starting lineup transformed a good Notre Dame team into a great one. However, Book was unable to go last week against Florida State due to a rib injury. Brandon Wimbush returned to the starting lineup and the offense didn’t miss a beat, putting up 42 points against a porous Florida State defense to keep the Irish undefeated.

Book is listed as probable against Syracuse this weekend and it’s almost certain he will go against the Orangemen. Even if he isn’t 100 percent healthy, his presence alone is enough to give the Syracuse defense nightmares.

The Notre Dame offense is so much more explosive when Book is running the show and he has been one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the country this year, boasting a ridiculous 74.5 percent completion rate.

Book has shown up all season for Notre Dame when asked to do so, and he has yet to let down Brian Kelly and don’t expect him to this weekend.
