2. The weather

As I alluded to in the beginning of this article, the Tri-State area was hit by a Nor’easter throughout the night Thursday into Friday, dumping four to six inches of snow in the New York metro area.

Fortunately, the weather for Saturday is expected to be much more pleasant with highs in the mid-40s and sunshine, a nice day in November for New York.

The reason I bring this up, however, is because this game is being played on a baseball field. The baseball field has no underground heating system as it shouldn’t since baseball is obviously not played in the winter. But if you watched last year’s Pinstripe Bowl between Iowa and Boston College, the field was frozen solid. If the field is frozen on Saturday it could be an issue for both teams.

But as I said, the forecast shows highs well above the freezing mark, which should bode well for the Irish and their spread offense.
