Syracuse Football: 5 reasons the Orange will upset Notre Dame

So I can’t exactly say that this one is a technical home game for Syracuse because unfortunately for them Notre Dame’s fan base is omnipresent all across America. They do have a couple things that they can hope to gain out of this matchup in Yankee Stadium against the No. 3 Fighting Irish in a mid-day matchup.
For starters, the game is in New York. Syracuse University is a whopping four hours away from the stadium but given the amount of success Syracuse has this year, there is no doubt in my mind that their fans will come out to see the Orange play their hardest in one of their biggest games of the year. The game may not be in the Carrier Dome like they may have wanted this game, but hey, it’s still in New York.
Another fact to note is that the game is not in South Bend, Ind. If Notre Dame had this game at home, the spread will likely be greater than ten and a half due to the hostile nature of the fan base in South Bend. The game staying in New York won’t keep away the Notre Dame faithful, but allows the tried and true followers of the Syracuse Orange to turn up for the Dino Babers-led, 8-2, Orange as they look to get a huge win for their program.
