3. Michigan bitten by injury bug

Michigan defensive end Chase Winovich left the game in the third quarter after an apparent late hit by Indiana offensive lineman Simon Stepaniak. The extent of Winovich’s injury is unknown. Winovich has amassed 50 tackles and 3.5 sacks for the 2018 season.

After Indiana converted a field goal to pull with a 28-20 margin, the ensuing kickoff to Michigan resulted in a brutal targeting block against a member of Michigan’s return team, running back Berkley Edwards (younger brother of former Michigan star Braylon Edwards). After several minutes, Edwards was carted off the field via stretcher.

Indiana linebacker Cam Jones was ejected for targeting for the play, and an injury update for Edwards after the game was not available.
