Ohio State Football: 3 takeaways from shaky win over Maryland
2. Buckeye offense is still scary
Let’s face it, when the Buckeye offense isn’t shooting itself in the foot, it’s frightening. Last week against a tough Spartan defense, though, the offense struggled, but not against the Terrapins and they’ll look to carry that momentum into next week’s big game against Michigan.
Outside of a fumble in the first half which ended a drive that would have tied the game heading into halftime and a pick-six to start the second half, the Buckeye offense was electric.
JK Dobbins had a huge day with Mike Weber injured, outside of that crucial fumble in the first half. He finished with 2013 yards and a touchdown on 37 carries. He put the team on his back when the Buckeyes needed some yardage and the offensive line stepped up as well.
Dwayne Haskins had a big game, too, despite that pick-six to start the second half, passing for 405 yards and three touchdowns on 28-of-38 completions.
This offense still found a way to nearly reach 700 total yards and 52 points on a day that the defense struggled. Scary stuff for opponents.
