Boise State made sure they would still be in the College Football Playoff Top 25 this week when they downed New Mexico 45-14 at home on Friday night. The Broncos toyed with their hosts, allowing just 103 passing yards and holding the Lobos under 300 total yards of offense. It was a statement win that kept the Broncos in the running for a New Year’s Six berth.

Bryan Harsin had a solid game at quarterback in victory, throwing for 222 yards and three passing touchdowns after completing 17 of his 27 attempts. Alexander Mattison had another huge game on the ground, racking up 145 yards and a score on 20 carries.

With the win, Boise State not only made sure they will remain in the Top 25 this week but that next week’s showdown at home with Utah State will serve as the MWC Mountain title game. The winner of the duel will stay ranked and will go on to play in the Mountain West championship game.
