2019 NFL Mock Draft: Projected first round after Week 12
By Dana Becker
Over the course of his Ohio State career, Nick Bosa was a force on the edge, recording 17.5 sacks, 29 tackles for loss and even scoring a defensive touchdown. Surgery, though, to repair a core muscle injury in his abdominal left Bosa with a decision to make.
The 6-foot-4, 263-pounder opted to step away from the Buckeye program and focus entirely on his future pro career. He played in just three games this season, but should be 100 percent healthy for any workouts he elects to take part in over the coming months.
Bosa, the brother of current NFL superstar Joey Bosa, picked up 16 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks last year in 14 games as a sophomore. His addition to the Niners immediately improves the defense and really puts San Francisco on track in the NFC to become a contender again with Jimmy Garoppolo expected to return next year.
The Niners currently have Solomon Thomas and Arik Armstead on the outside at the two defensive ends in their 4-3. Bosa should have no trouble moving directly into the starting lineup over either Thomas or Armstead.
