. DT. Auburn. Derrick Brown. 8. player. 45

If defensive line isn’t the deepest position in the upcoming draft, I don’t know what is. With the eighth pick, yet another person that plays inside the trenches is taken off the board in Auburn’s stud defensive tackle Derrick Brown.

Brown, a 6-foot-5, 325-pound force inside, had an immediate impact as a sophomore last year for the Tigers. He recorded 9.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and forced two fumbles in 13 games, putting himself on the map for NFL scouts.

This year, Brown has already matched those numbers in terms of tackles behind the line of scrimmage, doing all he can to keep Auburn in contention in the ultra-tough SEC. His addition to Denver’s defense as a rotational guy to keep Domata Peko fresh would absolutely help with the development of 2018 first round pick Bradley Chubb.

Brown and Chubb together over the next decade give the Broncos two young pieces to work with all-pro linebacker Von Miller. Denver still has plenty to figure out on the offensive side of the ball, but the defense is looking like that of its old self here now.
