4. This year’s game is in Oxford

Ole Miss has won two of the last three Egg Bowls played in Oxford. When playing at home the Rebels have the added advantage of their own crowd and none of those often-maligned cowbells. Playing at home has been hit or miss for the Rebels who are 3-3 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium this year.

Mississippi State, on the other hand, has barely managed to field competitive teams away from their home turf. The Bulldogs are 1-3 away from Starkville with their lone win coming over a bad Kansas State team in Week 2. They were silenced on offense by Kentucky and managed three total points on the road against Alabama and LSU, combined.

It’s true that Ole Miss doesn’t hold a candle to either of those SEC heavyweights, but the Rebels will be ready and waiting on Thanksgiving evening. The atmosphere and the intensity of the crowd will be at its peak. This is the only college football game on during prime time and the nation will be watching.
