5. Will Grier will outduel Kyler Murray

To some extent, this is a matter of preference. Both Kyler Murray and Will Grier have put together incredible 2018 campaigns. Had Grier donned an Oklahoma jersey he might also find himself in the running for the 2018 Heisman Trophy. Regardless of who wins that award, the two will have the opportunity to prove who’s the better passer head to head on Friday.

Both quarterbacks rank either first or second in nearly every major statistical category. Grier has the edge in yards, whereas Murray has more passing touchdowns (by one) and a better completion percentage.

Murray has little more than a year of college football experience. He’s been solid for the most part this year, but has narrowly led his team to victory over some mediocre teams. Grier’s Mountaineers have two losses to Oklahoma’s one, but they’ve been much more convincing in their wins than Oklahoma, especially over the last several weeks.

There are few better at making one singular play that could change the course of a game than Murray. But if asked for a game-winning drive or a second half comeback, few have proven they can do it better than Grier.
