2. Pooka Williams should be All-Big 12 next season

Pooka Williams is the most talented player on the Kansas roster, by a landslide. The former 4-star recruit from Boutte, LA had multiple SEC but opted to take a shot with the Jayhawks. The early returns have been better than anything Kansas could have anticipated.

Already with three career 100-yard games, Williams notched a 250-yard, two-touchdown performance against Oklahoma in Week 12. He followed that up with 16 carries for 103 yards against Texas, including a 57-yard touchdown run.

Quarterback Peyton Bender was up and down and none of the receivers made any meaningful contribution. Pooka Williams and fellow backfield mate Dom Williams were asked to carry this team against the third best running defense in the conference. Pooka was able to torch a bad Oklahoma front seven and he found a way to grind out meaningful yards against a significantly better unit.

The potential for Pooka truly is sky high. He’s a shoe-in for all-conference recognition next year and will be a workhorse back under a new coaching staff that will put him to good use.
