2. Tua Tagovailoa just won himself the Heisman

There are a few quarterbacks in the running for this trophy, that much is for sure. Sadly enough, it has become a quarterback award more than it is “the best player in the game” award, but that is neither here nor there.

The two big names, outside of Tua, are Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State) and Kyler Murray (Oklahoma). Both are quarterbacks of 11-1 teams. Both are have made big time plays when the time is necessary. Both had big time seasons and showed out in Week 13 when it mattered most. Both are exceptional athletes, but neither are Tua Tagovailoa. Neither have done what he has been able to do so far this season what Tua has since he entered the national title game a season ago.

Alabama has been tied or trailed for all of 70 seconds this season. They don’t face third downs often at all as they continue to dominate opponent after opponent. Their starting quarterback- Tua- has thrown all of four passes in the fourth quarter this season. That kind of stuff doesn’t happen by accident. That happens because of a great quarterback who knows what he needs to do every time he takes the field.

The biggest excitement I see for Tua? He had the game he did, the season that he did, even though his team wrapped up the West title a few weeks ago. They already knew they were going to the SEC title game, but Tua and company kept their foot on the gas and now he has earned a Heisman trophy.
