Defense is optional

At times during this game, literally no defense was being played. On multiple occasions, by both teams, a wide receiver simply ran past more than one defender, untouched, and scored a touchdown.

On Oklahoma’s 13th drive of the game, they kicked their first punt. Seven of their previous 12 possession resulted in touchdowns. This is just one simple statistic that can explain how little defense was played.

If you’re a NFL football fan, you probably watched last week’s Monday Night Football game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs. Many regarded this game as one of the most exciting matchups thus far in the NFL season due to the offensive exposition the two team’s put on. However, many suggested that fans could see this kind of football if they just watched any given Big 12 football game.

This game ended with a total of 1,372 yards of offense for a total of 115 points.
