1. Utah is on a hot streak heading into the Pac-12 title game

With wins in each of their past three games, Utah is in good form heading into the final game of Pac-12 play in 2018. The Utes also head to Santa Clara having won seven of their past eight games after a 2-2 start to the season.

Kyle Whittingham’s team allowed three touchdowns or less in seven of their 12 regular-season performances. Not only did the Utes lose starting quarterback Huntley in November, but they also saw leading rusher Zack Moss fall to a season-ending knee injury.

Despite the costly losses, Utah has showed a resilience both in the comeback against BYU and more generally over November that sets them up in good shape to face off against Washington on the last night before December.

Utah will likely head to Santa Clara as an underdog according to the oddsmakers. But Whittingham’s crew will be well prepared to face whatever circumstances arise in the final conference showdown of the year, as they try to book the school’s first-ever trip to the Rose Bowl.
