6. player. 48. . DT. Houston. Ed Oliver

Don’t be surprised if Ed Oliver’s stock falls a little bit with some perceived baggage stemming from his sideline confrontation with his head coach Major Applewhite, and the notion that he may have been sitting out while healthy enough to play.

His numbers have still been strong, however, with 14.5 tackles-for-loss to give him 53 in his three-year career at his hometown school.

Tampa Bay has one of the NFL’s worst defenses, ranking 31st in defensive DVOA, and need an influx of talent on that side of the ball. Regardless of the potential character concerns that have surfaced, and I think they are overblown, Oliver is too talented to fall much lower than this, and the Bucs would be getting a steal at No. 6.

Georgia CB Deandre Baker and Alabama safety Deionte Thompson would make a lot of sense here too with Tampa’s struggling insufficient pass defense.
