The College Football Playoff committee is going to have a hard time awarding the final berth. Can Ohio State or Oklahoma crack the top-four?

Week 13 was a crazy ride for everyone involved. Now that the regular season is all said and done, we prepare for conference championship week. This is the week that will decide who makes it into the College Football Playoff and who will be playing for a shot at the national title.

At this point, win or lose against Georgia in Atlanta, Alabama is in. Clemson will not lose to Pitt in the ACC Championship, it just won’t happen so they are a shoo-in as well. Notre Dame, the other undefeated squad, is independent of a conference and as a result, has completed their season. They’re in too.

As it stands now, this is the College Football Playoff field:

  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. Notre Dame
  4. Georgia

Despite Georgia earning the No. 4 spot after Week 13, this isn’t the final straw. This isn’t the official four teams headed to the Playoff. Georgia elevated themselves into the top-four this week, but a loss against Alabama will open the door for someone else, who? Either Ohio State or Oklahoma.

Which team deserves that spot? Will a revenge win over Texas be enough to get the Sooners into that playoff spot? How much weight does the Ohio State blow out of Michigan carry after they were blown out by Purdue just a few weeks ago?
