I mentioned it a bit earlier, but Iowa State stormed back in the final quarter to topple Kansas State and get to their seventh win of the season. That means the Cyclones have won at least seven games in back to back seasons for the first time since 2004-2005, and could make it back to back with eight wins for the first time since 1977-1978 if they beat Drake this weekend. Regardless of what happens with Matt Campbell this offseason (I think he’s heading back home to Ohio), he’s left the program in a much better place than he found it, so credit to him.

We always knew West Virginia’s final stretch was going to be tough, and that their record for the first couple months may have been inflated. While TCU and Oklahoma State weren’t anywhere near what we thought they’d be, Oklahoma and Texas were both awesome this year, and with those four on the schedule in the same month, the best West Virginia was probably ever going to do was split them. They did just that, and they’ll be headed to a pretty good bowl.
