The Texas Longhorns have an embarrassment of riches at wide receiver with Devin Duvernay, Lil’Jordan Humphrey, and Collin Johnson. With the commitment of Jake Smith, that tradition will continue in the Lone Star State.

The 6-foot Smith hails from Scottsdale, Arizona, and attends the Notre Dame Preparatory school. He’s accumulated 33 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, but verbally committed to Tom Herman and the Longhorns on June 3, 2018.

Smith is ranked the No. 75 recruit by both 247Sports and ESPN, and Rivals ranks him the No. 65 recruit. All three of Duvernay, Humphrey, and Johnson are juniors, but could explore the NFL Draft process, opening a position for Smith on the 2019 depth chart.
