Kansas State Football: 5 possible candidates to replace Bill Snyder
1. Sean Snyder
As of right now, Sean Snyder would be a lot of people’s guess to succeed his dad as head coach at Kansas State. Snyder has been in the Kansas State program for essentially his entire adult life, even as an All-American punter for his father in the early 90’s, when the Wildcats program was essentially being raised from the dead. This would be a move that would not come without controversy as there would certainly be calls of nepotism that would follow this.
Snyder began his college career as a punter at Iowa in 1988 and after redshirting in ’88, Snyder saw some action as a backup punter in 1989 before transferring to Kansas State in 1990 to play for his father. In 1992, Snyder was a first-team All-American Punter for the Wildcats, Kansas State’s first, 1st-team All-American since Gary Spani in 1977. Since his graduation, Snyder has been an assistant with his father at Kansas State and has been Assistant Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator since 2010.
Certainly this is going to be a very interesting interview process as it seems Kansas State has made it clear that Sean Snyder is not just going to be handed the job. It will take a course of a week or two before it is decided who will be the next leader of the Wildcats program, but before then, this coaching search will be an entertaining one.
